Thirucharanathumalai (Tiruchchāraṇattumalai) is a hillock located in Chitharal village from Marthandam, and from Kanyakumari. Tiruchchāraṇattumalai, which means 'holy hill of the Chāraṇas', derives its name on account of its association with the Chāraṇas, a class of sages who had attained mastery over nature.
